Here you will find sample copies of request to be on our Preferred (paid) Waiting List, a sample of our Holding Deposit form (just like the one used for actually reserving a puppy from a particular litter), and a sample copy of our Sales Agreement/Guarantee. These are posted for your information only. They are NOT to be printed and used to submit funds to Grunenfeld. If you wish to buy one of our wonderful puppies or adults, contact us directly, and we will email you a form to use. Anyone can request for free to be notified about upcoming litters. The paid list people get priority over non-paid list people for reserving a specific puppy in a specific litter.

I________________________________
am submitting a Priority Waiting List fee made payable to Jackie Athon in the amount of $100.00 to be on a Priority
Waiting List for a German Shepherd Male _____ or Female_____ puppy, &
color preference of:_____________________.
I want a puppy only with standard hair_______, or only with long
hair_______; or standard or long hair will be OK______.
Being on this list does not reserve you a specific
puppy. It DOES mean you will be offered an available puppy of the sex and
color matching your preference before it is offered to any one who is NOT on
the Priority Waiting List.
When
you are offered a puppy matching your preferences listed above, you may choose
to reserve that puppy. You will have 24 hours after notification it is
available to say Yes, or No. If you wish to reserve the puppy, you submit the
remaining $400 for the full Holding Deposit ($500) immediately by Money Order,
Cashier Check, Western Union wire, or in cash. I do not take personal checks.
Once
you reserve a puppy and submit the balance of the Holding Deposit, the puppy
is considered sold and is reserved for you. The Holding Deposit is not
refundable. Please be sure you read the sample Holding Deposit and Sales
Agreements posted on the web page before sending any money.
If
Grunenfeld can not offer you a puppy born within the next 4 months meeting
your above request, you may request in writing that the $100 Priority Waiting
List fee maybe refunded to you. If Grunenfeld offers you a puppy that matches
your request, and you do not accept it, the Priority Waiting List fee will not
be refunded.
If you turn down a puppy, you may still stay on the Priority Waiting List, and you will be notified of future puppies that also match your request. Your personal contact information will also be required on the actual form. Please feel free to request one.

I________________________________
am submitting a non-refundable holding deposit made payable to Jackie
Athon in the amount of $500.00 for a German Shepherd adult/puppy born (or
due) on________ from Sire:________________________________ and
Dam:______________________________. I am reserving a Male ___ or Female___
puppy from the ____ litter, or an adult named
__________________________________ (confirm with Grunenfeld for this
info). This dog is not reserved until the holding deposit has been actually
received by the Seller using Cash,
Western Union Wire, or Money Order payable to Jackie Athon. We do not
accept Personal Checks. I want a puppy: only with standard hair_______, or
only with long hair_______, or standard or long hair will be OK______. Circle
all colors you would be satisfied with: Black & Red, Black & Tan, or
Bi-color.
This
holding deposit will reserve the puppy for the buyer until it is ready for
release at about 8 weeks of age, or until 10 days after it arrives from
Germany (if it is an imported puppy); or it will reserve an adult or older
puppy for 10 days if shipping needs to be arranged to the Buyer. If the buyer
completes the purchase of this dog, the holding deposit will be credited to
the purchase of this dog.
If
the buyer requests, the seller (Grunenfeld) MAY be able to hold a puppy to 10
weeks of age if there is good reason as to why it can not be accepted at the
preferred 8 weeks of age. This will be up to Grunenfeld due to the additional
time, care and kennel space required to do so. If Grunenfeld agrees to hold
the puppy past 8 weeks of age, the puppy must be paid for in full by 8 weeks
of age, and the puppy is considered to be owned by the buyer as of the time
the puppy is paid for in full.
The
balance of $____________ will be due before the release of this dog. Shipping
and Handling fees, if shipping is needed, are to be paid by the Buyer and are
estimated to be about $__________. In the case of puppies, the release date
will be at about 8 weeks of age (if born at Grunenfeld).
If
for any health reason, the breeder can not provide this puppy/dog to the
seller by 12 weeks of age, the deposit shall be moved to the next available
similar puppy that meets the same description as the above puppy/dog.

This deposit shall be credited towards the purchase price of this dog in the event this sale is completed. All monies must be paid in full to the Seller before the release of this dog using cash, money order (payable to Jackie Athon) or Western Union money wire. I do not take personal checks. In the unlikely event this dog becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances by twelve weeks of age on puppies, or within two weeks time on dogs over 12 weeks of age, the holding deposit will be moved to the next available dog of similar age, sex, color, quality and price. The Buyer will be responsible for shipping, Veterinary, legal fees, or other reasonable expenses incurred to complete this agreement. This agreement shall be considered as being entered into in the city of El Cajon, county of San Diego, California, USA.
The seller reserves the right of first refusal in the event this Buyer does not choose to keep this dog in the future.
This dog is in good health and is free of contagious disease to the best of the Seller's knowledge at the time of release. The Seller guarantees this dog against the development of a contagious disease for one week after the release of this dog. If this dog develops a contagious disease with in one week of it's release the Buyer shall choose one of the two following actions:
The Buyer may return the dog to the seller with a written statement for a licensed Veterinarian stating which disease the dg has. The Seller will then treat this dog, with the assistance/advice of the Seller's Veterinarian at the Seller's expense. The Buyer shall have the option of a replacement dog, or may have this dog back when it has been verified as having recovered by a licensed Veterinarian; or
The Buyer may have this dog treated at the Veterinarian of their choice, and the Seller will pay reasonable Veterinary fees to treat the contagious disease up to but not exceeding 50% of the purchase price of this dog (excluding shipping fees). The Buyer shall submit proof of such expenses to the Seller from the attending Veterinarian.
This dog was treated for internal and/or external parasites prior to it's release, and has been vaccinated for life threatening diseases including Distemper, Adenovirius 2 (Hepatitis), Parainfluenza and Parvo, and if over 4 months of age also for Rabies. The Buyer should expect to continue the parasite control measures and the vaccination schedule as an ongoing necessity for the health of the dog.
If this dog must be put to sleep, or dies, prior to twelve (12) months of age due to a congenital or inherited problem, the Buyer shall provide the Seller a written statement from the attending Veterinarian. This statement shall list the dog's full name, sex, Microchip or tattoo code, and the date and reason for the dog's death. The Seller will provide a replacement dog of similar age, price (at time of purchase), and quality free of charge to the Buyer with in twelve months of the death of the aforementioned dog. The Buyer is to pay only shipping related fees (if applicable) on the replacement dog. The buyer agrees NOT to have this dog sexually sterilized until a minimum of 9 months old on females and 12 months old on males. Hormones play a critical role in proper mental AND physical development and early sexual sterilization affects the dog for life.
This dog is guaranteed against developing crippling hip dysplasia (moderate or severe), or elbow dysplasia until twelve (12) months of age. Diet, exercise and environment have been proven to effect the expression and severity of dysplasia, therefore the Buyer agrees to follow the Feeding and Care guidelines included with this dog. If this dog is twelve months of age or older at the time of sale, the Buyer has Seventy-two (72) hours after receipt of this dog to have it examined for health problems to their satisfaction by a licensed Veterinarian. Any attempt to dislocate the joint during palpation, or the use of the "PennHip" technique will void the hip guarantee. In the event crippling hip or elbow dysplasia is diagnosed in the period of guarantee, using only Orthopedic Foundations for Animals (OFA) accepted technique and correct positioning, the Buyer will immediately notify the Seller. The Buyer shall promptly provide the Seller with a copy of the radiograph used for diagnosis, and a letter from the attending Veterinarian, which will include the following information:
The full registered name of this dog. The date of the radiograph (x-ray). The name of the dog's owner. The name of the Veterinarian and Clinic that took the radiograph.
The permanent ID code (tattoo or microchip) of the dog, and statement that the ID was checked at the time of the radiograph to verify the identity of this dog.
The Seller, and/or the Seller's Veterinarian will review the radiograph. In the event the Seller does not agree with the diagnosis of the Buyer's Veterinarian, the Seller will submit the radiograph to the OFA, at the Seller's expense. The opinion of the OFA shall prevail. If this dog has crippling (moderate to severe) dysplasia, and the claim is made as provided for in the terms of this agreement within the period of guarantee, the Seller shall provide a free replacement dog (Buyer to pay only shipping related fees) with in twelve (12) months of the date of claim. This dog is sold as a companion animal, and no guarantee is made as to its future performance or breeding ability. Registration papers (if applicable) for this dog will be provided as soon as possible by the Seller to the Buyer. AKC registration, if included, shall be Limited Non-Breeding registration unless otherwise listed under additional conditions.
The Buyer accepts full responsibility for this dog and it's actions, whether sold as a trained or untrained animal, and fully indemnifies the Seller from any cause or action related to this dog once it leaves the Seller's possession.
